Woodworking is pretty self-explanatory, but the huge variety of different types of wood, along with their very different characteristics make it something that can take a lifetime to master. Yet it is an endlessly fascinating source of joy for many people.

There are many different kinds of woodworking. Some use specific tools, and they often have specific type of wood that work better for that purpose. Sometimes they can be combined to create very unique, and one-of-a-kind pieces.

Woodworking Tools
Woodworking is done with a variety of hand tools and power tools. The Makerspace has a huge variety of standard inexpensive hand tools which you may already own. What makes the space special is the large number of expensive power tools which most people can't afford on their own. Here is our current list of power tools. We'll do our best to keep this list up to date and include safety and instructional information when possible.
