Tips
When you want to flatten a piece of wood...
First secure the piece to the work surface. Be sure to use low profile clamps and double sided masking tape so that the clamps are well clear of the cutting head.
Take of a exceptionally small amount. If the cutter is positioned over the wood when cutting it is too large to do a plunge cut more than 0.001 deep without bogging down.

Position the tool to start at the height you want off the board, then come in from the side.
Slow down the speed of movement to 40 in/min then if it's cutting poorly you can slow it down or if it's cutting well you can speed it up.
